The Elders at Little Church:
Elders are chosen by the people. Together with Ministers of the word and sacrament, they exercise leadership, government and discipline and have responsibilities for the life of a particular Church as well as the church at Large. They shall serve faithfully as members of the session.
Elders should be persons of faith, dedication, and good judgment. Their manner of life should be a demonstration of the Christian gospel, both within the church and within the world.
It is the duty of Elders to strengthen and nurture the faith and life of the congregation committed to their charge. Together with the pastor, they should encourage the people in the worship and service of God, equip and renew them for their tasks within the church and for their mission in the world.

Session Synopsis of Tuesday evening, January 23rd, 2018:
We were reminded in our beginning devotion, that to lead well we must follow (Him).
Our Mission/Outreach Ministry has many plans including the current mittens-and-the-like drive for Moldova children, Make A Difference Day and the annual plant sale in April, and an Applebee’s Takeover (involving no criminal activity, be assured) in June.
The Lakewoodgrace committee is working on deepening the experience of visitors and all attenders, and a “Screenagers” event for kids and parents on April 21st.
There are about 70 of us signed up for the next FOCUS semester; if you haven’t please do. It will be another round of looking into the sermon Scriptures and trying to apply them to our lives.
Financial results for 2017 were received and a budget adopted for 2018; this will all be shared at the upcoming congregational meeting.
Speaking of which, the annual congregational meeting is Sunday, February 4th (Super Sunday!) after the 10 a.m. combined worship service in the sanctuary. A nicely done video will be part of it.
